A Considered Layout for Sea-Facing Living
The layout was planned around the view, with the living and dining spaces oriented to face the water and the primary bedroom positioned to wake up to the same panorama each morning. As with LUMI’s other luxury residential projects, form followed function: circulation, storage and technical requirements were resolved first, so nothing needed to compete with the outlook for attention. Every wall that could be opened up was, so that even the more private corners of the apartment share in the sense of space.
Sliding glazing and a restrained material palette keep sightlines open from the moment you step through the front door, while discreet joinery absorbs storage without breaking the calm of the space.
An Island Setting with an International Outlook
Sentosa Island has grown from a military outpost into one of Singapore’s most sought-after residential and resort addresses, prized for its beaches, marinas and skyline views back toward the port. Designing for this setting meant balancing the drama of that outlook with an interior calm enough to live with every day, rather than one that competes with it.
Furnishings and finishes were selected to feel equally at home whether the apartment is being used for quiet family time or for entertaining guests visiting the island, with warm neutrals and natural materials chosen to soften the graphic quality of the skyline beyond the glass.
Finishes Built to Last
Every material in the apartment was chosen with durability in mind as well as appearance, from the stone used in wet areas to the timber detailing that runs through the joinery. Humidity, light and salt air all shape how a coastal home ages, and each finish was selected to hold up to that environment without losing its character over time.
